I’m Brittany, a record keeper, storyteller, wife + mother, and artist.
I use my camera as the brush, painting motherhood with beauty and honesty. I can’t remember a time when I didn’t have a camera in my hands. It was self-portraits, then candid shots of my siblings. Whatever I was able to capture became art to me.
Because it is. This life of ours, it’s art.
After becoming a mom, the real beauty of my art form became all the more vibrant. Healing from birth trauma, the months spent in the hospital navigating the NICU and surgeries, working through the loss of a loved one … whatever I’m dealing with, I ground myself through my camera. It helps me make sense of my experiences, find the beauty in them. I’d love to do the same for you as a documentary family photographer — for the happiest moments and the quiet ones too.
Those images showed me where I came from.
Let me capture the same for you.
The frames filled the shelves of my grandparents’ living room — lined up perfectly, regularly dusted, always loved.
There were portraits, like my grandpa in his Marine Corps uniform or my grandma in her wedding dress. And there were candids, like my mom on a skateboard or me and my siblings all squished together on my grandma's rocking chair.
But they all were lovingly displayed together on those shelves.
My favorite memories are crowded with picture frames
